Wave Characteristics

Break Type: Reef Break / Left-hander (Multi-Peak)
Reef Break: The wave breaks over a deep, sharp coral reef shelf high off the cliff face.
Left-hander: Looking toward the shore from the ocean, the wave peels open from right to left, meaning surfers ride toward their left side.
Skill Level: Intermediate to Expert
Requires strong paddling power, comfortable reef management, and experience navigating five distinct peaks (The Peak, Racetracks, Temples, Outside Corner, and Bombie).
Optimal Swell: S – SW (South to Southwest)
Swell: Open-ocean wave energy created by ocean storms. Uluwatu is famous for holding massive swell sizes from 4 feet up to double-overhead+ without breaking down.
