Break Type: Offshore Reef Break / Predominantly Right-hander

Offshore Reef Break: The waves break far out in the ocean over coral shelves. You usually need to hire a local wooden boat (jukung) to reach the lineup.

Right-hander: Looking toward the shore from the ocean, the wave peels open from left to right, meaning surfers ride toward their right side.

Optimal Swell: S – SW (South to Southwest)

Swell: Open-ocean wave energy. Sanur is a “sleeping giant” that requires massive ocean swells to wrap into the coast and break properly.
